We are based in the North Cotswold village of Blockley between Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh and carry out all types of projects ranging from very small to large scale, and from improving areas of existing gardens to development of completely new gardens and alteration of existing buildings. Most of our work is done within a 20 mile radius. The Cotswold Landscaping Company is not VAT registered for project management, planning and design services, although construction activities are generally subject to VAT when undertaken by our preferred local contractor, Dan Groves Contracting Ltd (see below).
If you are considering using our services, Rupert will be very happy to come and visit you at your home to discuss your plans without obligation – there is no charge for this initial visit. We will listen to what it is you wish to achieve and discuss the broad concepts of how we could help in realising the vision for the project and give an indication of costs.
Following on from this initial visit, if you decide to proceed, we will then provide a written quotation for survey and design work, as necessary. The design work can be outline conceptual plans or complete garden layouts with detailed planting plans. The scope of work can also extend to preparation of fully detailed drawings for seeking planning permission for large scale landscaping projects where major engineering works are required (such as some driveways, lakes, etc) or for garden related building works. We like to present the draft design drawings in person, talk through our suggestions in detail and listen to any feedback from the client. Subsequently, following any necessary alterations, a final set of drawings is prepared. At this point we then invoice for the design.
Based on the agreed plans, we can provide a written estimate for construction and/or planting. The construction quote will generally be provided by our preferred local contractor Dan Groves Contracting Ltd (dangrovescontracting.co.uk). We can then supervise the construction stage of the project, liaising as necessary with the client, to ensure the project is brought to a successful conclusion.
The Company also regularly works with Chris Leach, also from Blockley, an experienced and highly skilled dry stone waller, who specialises in high quality stonework essential in the construction of outstanding gardens. We also have contacts with other local skilled tradesmen who can be brought in to the construction team as required for implementation of a wide range of projects.
